The main building comprised a steel framed ground floor structure with a modular build timber framed hotel unit over.
The foundations to the building were piled whilst the running sands below ground required a geogrid reinforced subbase for the service yards carrying HGV’s and to the fuel retail unit.
The drainage system required attenuation and managed open channels to create “blue corridors” to the site. The estate was connected by new service roads to the existing infrastructure provided as part of the motorway development.
The later refurbishment scheme included a new feature entrance canopy and remodelling of the existing building.
