A brownfield inner-city site provided much needed space for expansion of the existing site.
The Belle Vue site was under significant strain due to increase volume of vehicle throughput, when the opportunity arose to purchase an adjoining plot of land containing several derelict buildings. The scope of the project was to create a standalone facility to serve the increasing demand of the commercial vehicles side to the business.
During the early concept design stages we were able to work with the design team and local water authority to facilitate a “build-over” agreement of an existing combined sewer running through the site, to avoid costly diversion works and maintain the clients original aspirations for the overall footprint of the building.
We also worked closely with the design team and client to adapt proposed levels during the contract works to provide a single level, graded surface that was more compatible with updated client usage requirements.
