The Blandford Square residential development was a mix of 6 and 7 storey buildings using modular build to reduce onsite works.
The building is supported off piled foundations with split level retaining walls across the site. The building was constructed with an in-situ concrete frame to first floor – this level acting as a ‘transfer structure’ in turn supporting a load-bearing lightweight ‘Fusion’ system to the upper floors.
Externally the building is finished in masonry, springing off a masonry support angle at first floor and tied back to the Fusion system. At higher levels the conventional masonry skin was replaced with brick slips, suitable to be supported directly off the Fusion frame.
