A further regeneration site requiring extensive assessment of geotechnical performance associated with bulk earthworks operations. This is a development which was split in to two phases to ensure sufficient demand existed for the units being constructed. The phase 1 & 2 developments deliver 76,800 sq ft of units, which includes 15,250 sq ft of Nano units.
The wider site was formerly occupied by an abattoir and initial enabling works including demolition, remediation and formation of plateaus had already been undertaken. Dudleys involvement included the review and appraisal of existing information, co-ordination and review of additional validation investigation works and subsequent presentation of record summary information to local authority consultees.
Proposed levels on the site were carefully co-ordinated with main contractor Percy Pickard Contractors, in order to minimise any arisings off site. Given the nature of the material present on site, this was achieved through a phased working process to utilise arisings from foundations and drainage excavations.
