The Dudleys Engineering team based in Leeds and Manchester are well placed to quickly attend sites from the Borders to the Midlands although distance hasn’t stopped us working on projects further afield.

Our working process

Feasibility & constraints study

We frequently Provide high level advice to clients to inform their initial land purchase assessments or similarly to understand the feasibility of adapting an existing asset.

Concept design

We will provide outline summary proposals to inform the design requirements for the project in question. This will typically be a sketch or a mark-up to identify the primary Civil & Structural Engineering elements of a project and inform the initial cost and programme appraisal process.

Tender design

As the proposed development scheme and scope of works is refined, we will typically produce a package of design information (including drawings, calculations, specifications, etc.) that will provide a suitable level of information for the client QS to assess and to be used as a tender package of information.

Construction stage

This stage takes the design proposals to a fully detailed design level that can be constructed on site. There may also be value engineering options that are considered at this stage which arose during the tender process. We would also support the client and contractor on site during this stage to ensure works progress in a timely manner and address any foreseen issues as they arise.

Clarity in how we present our information is a critical part of what we do and the ultimate output of our work. This is true for drawings that are clean & clearly presented with pertinent information, so site teams have no ambiguity in what is to be constructed. Similarly, this applies to presentation of reports, which often need to convey complex designs in an easy to interpret manner.

We work as a team

Everything we do in a successful project revolves around collaboration internally and externally. Project teams are frequently varied to encourage cross-collaboration throughout our offices and also provide work opportunities in a variety of engineering sectors. As a team we support each other and work towards the overall business goals.

There's more to life than work
